John Black Memorial United Church was the scene of a lovely wedding on Saturday, October 7th, 1967, at 4:00 p.m. when Penelope Lynne, daughter of Mrs. Orla Bucbannon and the late James CoJbourne Buchan-non, was united in marriage with Mr. Thys Markus Heuvelman, son of Mr. and Mrs. .Dirk Visser. Reverend Ross Williams solemnized the double ring ceremony. The soloist, Mr. Robert D. Guy was accompanied at the organ by Mr. Doug McLean.Given in marriage by her brother Brian, the bride chose a floor length gown of white silk organza, featuring a scooped neckline appliqued with hand clipped French lace and dusted with seed pearls. The centennial gown had the traditional lily point sleeves, and the very bouffant skirt was enhanced with tiers of French imported lace. A lace trimmed chapel brain complemented the back. The four-tiered veil of silk illusion was centered with a petalled head piece and her only jewelry, a single strand of cultured pearls, was a gift from * the bridegroom. She carried a bouquet of red sweetheart roses and stephan oils.Mrs. Ethel Kolaski attended the bride as matron of honor with Mrs. Annette Freeman and Mrs. Nellie Harrington, sister of thebridegroom, as bridesmaids. They wore identical floor length gowns of aqua Swiss cotton shantung, highlighted with empire waists trimmed in lace. A (panel attached at the waist and •i which featured lace appliques and two small bows, com]plemented the back. Small aqua flowers with pearl centres werej scattered in their hair, and they carried colonial cascades of glameilia.* Attending the bridegroom as “ best man was his brother-in-law, Mr. Ron Staats. Mr. Ernie Kolaski and Mr. Allan Bucbannon, brother of the bride, usbered the guests. s A reception was held in the £ East St. Paul Royal Canadian Legion Hall where Mr. Walter Q Champion, an uncle of the I, bride, proposed the toast n Reverend Peter De Jong said u grace.For her going away outfit, the bride chose a green linen suit featuring a print blouse and ;j matching print head bow. Her going-away corsage was a lovely cvmbidium orchid.
