Young Couple Wed In Church CeremonyiiK'’ y mliMrs. Marvin SchmelingColleen Johnson, daughter of Mr. j and Mrs. Carl Johnson, and Marvin Schmeling, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Schmeling of Spirit Lake, were united in marriage Sunday evening at the Immanuel Lutheran church in Terril. The double ring ceremony was performed at seven o'clock byRev. W. G. Schultz.»The bride was given in marriage . by her father. She was attired in a floor length gown of white taffeta with a fingertip veil. She carried a white Bible and a corsage of white chrysanthemums.Leona Schmeling, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. She wore a blue formal and had a shoulder corsage of white chrysanthemums.Duane Johnson, brother of the bride, acted as best man. The groom wore a blue business suit and the ijbest man a brown suit. All the men _ j of the wedding* party had carnation I s boutonnieres.j j Jerry Schmeling was ring bearer.I j Karen Johnson and Lynne Johnson 3 t were flower girls. Both wore white e | for nulls and had blue carnation cor-j sages.Daryl Johnson and Virgil Schmeling served as ushers.The -bride's mother wore a brown dress and the groom’s mother wore blue. They had shoulder corsages of white chrysanthemums.The church was beautifully decorated with colored gladioli. Nadine Munsterman and Evelyn Willard lighted the candles.I Verdene Zelinsky sang “HowL j Lovely is Thy Dwelling”. Jack Stokke sang “Bless This House”. Sonja Na-mtvedt was pianist.Following the ceremony a vecep-! lion was held in the church parlors with 140 relatives and friends attending. Rev. Schultz served as toast-master. Verdene Zelinsky sang “Because” and “I Love You Truly”.Ten of the bride's friends served at the reception. Mrs. Harry Probst, j Mrs. Ed Schnelle -and Mrs. Tom Rubis were in charge of the refreshments.Mrs. Schmeling has lived in this community all her- life. She grau-ib^ated from the Terril school with the (class cf 194S. Mr. Schmc'mg is em-ill I ployed by the Caea Cola company :n ►rfc | Spirit Lake.
