LEFT WEALTH TO HIS FRLate Fred W. Foerster in His Will Remembered Those Who Were Good to Him During His Life.He Bequeathed Five Hundred Dollars to Mercy Hospital and the Remainder of His Estate, Which Amounts to Nearly Twenty Thousand Dollars, Will be Devided Between Theodore Kriechbaum and Clarence Artz, of the German-American Savings Bank, and George Smith, the Former Sheriff.By the will of Fred W. Foerster, which has been filed for probate, Mercy hospital will receive a gift of $500 and Messrs. Theo. W. Kriechbaum. cashier of the German-American Savings bEunk, Clarence Artz, assistant j cashier of the same institution, and George Smith, the well-known cigar manufacturer, each will receive one-third interest in an estate valued at about 15,000. Mr. C. C. Clark is executor.Fred Foerster came to Burlington about twenty years ago and had for years operated a blacksmith shop at 113 Court street. He was of a frugal nature and he began to accumulate* property. He was a genius in the inventing line and had put .several goodthings on the market, which brought in returns. Several years ago his wife, the only relative he had, died and since that time he had lived alone. He had a number of friends, however, who did much for him during his lifetime and he now richly rewards them. Tho beneficiaries are as surprised over the contents of the will as the general public.1 he eccentric old man was of a quiet nature and told no one of his property Interests or bis investments. No one knew what he was worth and no one can yet tell just how much he had Estimates place his standing at about $15,000 but il is thought that when the final accounting is in, that it will reach $20,000. The deceased did not execute the will until a short time before his death.
