MR* AND MRS* PATRICK ARTHUR BROWN(nee Elizabeth Agnes Brown)—Jacob’s Studio, Drayton ValleySt. Anthony’s Roman CatholicChurch at Drayton Valley was chosen for the late summer wedding on August 20th of Elizabeth (Beth) Agnes, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Brown and Patrick Arthur, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Brown of Czar Alberta.Strains of Lohengrin ushered theBridal Party to the Altar, where Rev. E. Lynch celebrated the nuptial mass, assisted by altar boys Tom McGee and Donald Serenas.Given in marriage by her father,Beth was radiant in her bridal gownof Peau de Soie, featuring an empire waistline, plain round necked bodice with sculptured bust-line and three-quarter length bell cuffed sleeves. A floor length sleeveless jacket cape of matching peau de soie completed the ensemble. Her shoulder length veil of filmy French lace was held by a jewelled crown. Beth woresculptured pearl jewelry, a gift of the groom and carried a cascading arrangement of red roses and white chrysanthemums with buds and lily of the valley on streamers.The bride’s three attendants, Misses Pat Mulgrew and Donna Mostre of Drayton Valley and Louise Brown, sister of the groom, were gowned alike In floor length models of Turquoise blue chiffon over taffeta. The dresses were styied simply with elbow length sleeves and a low back from which a self bow fell in a slight train. The girls wore dyed-to-match shoes, white lace gloves and carried cascades of white carnations and pinkdaisies with lily of the valley. The headpieces were tiaras of pearl and crystal beads,Janice Brown was her aunts demure flower girl in white sculptured nylon with pink trim, white bonnet and gloves. She carried a small basket of summer flowers.The ring bearer was Master Russell Grocock, nephew of the groom. His red velvet jacket contrasted smartly with the white dinner jackets on the groom and his attendants.Groomsmen were Tom Meraw and Marvin Lawrason, friends of the groom and his brother, Conn Brown*Ushering guests to ribbon marked pews was Robert Brown, the bride’s brother and Frances Saville, a friend.St. Anthony’s organist Lionel Car-riere played the wedding music and accompanied Mrs. Donnabelle Laye as she sang Panis Angelicus, preceding the bride’s entrance.Following blessing of and exchange of the rings, at the offertory of the Mass, Mrs. Laye, Patrick’s sister, sang 0 Lord I Am Not Worthy, and Strubert’s Ave Maria as the party retired to sign the register.The bride’s mother chose a two piece silk knit in red with white accessories. A corsage of pale -pink roses with an orchid completed her ensemble.Jade green silkron, in a two-piece model was chosen by the groom’s mother, with matching feather hat and beige accessories, gold roses and an orchid en corsage.A reception for 190 guests, served by the Ukranian ladies, was held at the Drayton Valley Hall. A threetiered cake, beautifully decorated, centred the bride’s table which was laid with hand made lace. Tapersand summer floral arrangements completed the setting. .Mr. Percy Motley of Czar, acting as Master of Ceremonies for the happy occasion, called upon Father Lynch for blessing of the wine and the food. Mr. H. W. Pickup of Drayton Valley proposed-a toast to thebride to which the groom responded. Several telegrams were read and photos taken.At a dance later in the hall, neices of Beth’s, Helen and Debbie Anderson of Kimbey, entertained. Guests were from numerous places including Rimbey, Westlock, Slave Lake, Czar, Edmonton, Calgary and Red Deer.For a honeymoon trip to the mountains the bride donned a two-piecesuit of heavy brocade in beige withwhich she wore pink accessories and pink roses and an orchid en corsage.The newly weds are at home in Edmonton where they are employed at the present time.
