Miss Connaughton Weds John SlocumMiss Elizabeth Ann Connaughton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Connaughton, became the bride of John Lyman Slocum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Slocum of Providence, R. I., at a nuptial mass in St. Michaels Church on October 23, 1950. The Rev William F. Pyne officiated. A wedding breakfast was served at Hearthstone House, Seekonk, Mass., followed by a reception at the home ' of the bride.Given in marriage by her father, the bride was gowned in white satin brocade, entrain, designed with long sleeves and a high collar. Her finger- j tip veil of French illusion fell from a | . satin bonnet trimmed with seed pearls, and she carried a cascade of stephanotis and a white orchid.Miss Janice Slocum, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honor. She I i wore a lime taffeta and lace gown ' | with matching hat and mitts, and Miss Elaine Barry and Mrs. Marilyn , Padien, bridesmaids, were attired in i taffeta gowns of hunter and apple green. All the attendants carried bouquets of yellow and brown chrysanthemums. Dean Slocum was best man tot his brother.After a wedding trip through northern New England and upstate New York, the couple will reside on Hancock street, Cambridge, Mass.-Mr. and Mrs. Slocum both are graduates of Rhode Island State College. Mr. Slocum is a civil engineer with the Bethlehem Steel Company in Cambridge.The guests included Mrs. Leonard Carr and Richard Carr of Cazenovia and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Carr of Canastota.The groom and his parents are former residents of Cazenovia.
