Cheverton, Naval Aviation, and his fiance. Lt. (j.g. Jane Louise Kendeigh. Flight Nurse, U.S.N.R.The engagement of* the young couple was announced a few weeks ago at the Officers Club, at the Naval A*:r Station. Honolulu.For the past six months the betrothed pair have been in the same evacuation squadron of the Naval Air Transport Service. Jane is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kendeigh of Oberlin. Ohio, and this was her first trip to Southern California.Robert's brothers were also at home for the occasion. Howard, a discharged Navy veteran, and Lt. Cmdr. Milton R. Cheverton. with his wife and their baby son, William. It was the first time that the three brothers had been home together since before the war, when they were all in San Marino during the spring vacation. *Howard is now enrolled in the graduate school of the University of California, studying agricultural econdnics. Milton, who was promoted last month to the rank of lieutenant commander, is on three months terminal leave, proir to his discharge. Ho is living in San Diego where he has taken a position with an insurance firm and his family isliving at Pacific Beach.Robert’s visit at home was for only two days, as Miss Kendeigh was scheduled to report at Oakland for a flight to New York and he was to return to Honolulu. Sipce then, he has flown to I wo Jima and Tokyo.
