IDlz,Marian Schleisman andLloyd Schachtner WedThe marriage of Miss Marian Phyliss Schleisman, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Schleisman of Pomeroy, and Lloyd George Schachtner, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Schachtner of Fonda, was solemnized in St. Mary's Catholic church in Pomeroy Saturday morning, June 1, 1957, at 9:30, the Rev. Thomas Lawless reading the double ring service in the presence of over 200 relatives and friends. Serving the Mass were Robert and Michael Lenz.The bride, escorted down the white carpeted aisle to the marriage altar by her father, was beauflful in her floor length gown of Barbara design made of satin with overskirt of embroidered chnntilly lace and tulle. A floating back panel of embroidered tulle fell over the tulle skirt and formed a whisper train. The bodice, styled with a Sabrina neckline and lighted with tiny illumines, was of embroidered tulle. The sleeves were long. She wore a matching pearl necklace and earrings, a gift from the bridegroom. A tiny plateau of lace encrusted with sequins and pearls held in place her shoulder length veil of sill* illusion. She carried a bouquet of- American Beauty roses centered wllh a white orchid and the satin streamers were tied in lovers knots.Baseball Team WinsTwo; Loses OneThe Pomeroy baseball team has won two games and lost one in the past two weeks. At the present, Pomeroy is leading the C W League with a 2 and 0 record.On Sunday, May 26, Pomeroy took a 3-2 game from Somers there. Tom McCarty scored the winning run on a squeeze play in the eighth inning. Bob Benedict was on the mound for the locals.In a non-league game here Memorial Day Somers outhit the locals and won by an 11-6 score. Woody Peterson and Bob Benedict hurled for Pomeroy.Last Sunday, in a game played at Pomeroy, the locals blanked Clare 28-0. They wore identical gowns of white frosted nylon dotted swiss over American Beauty red taffeta. The sleeves were short. The full skirts were complimented with wide Dior sashes in American Beauty red and their hats and mitts of dotted swiss matched their gowns.
