Jan. 17, 2004, in celebration and honor of the 50th wedding anniversary of Robert and Martha Lee (Blue) Perrin of 12217 Bedford Road NE. The event, holed by the couple’s three children, their spouses and families, was held at the Rocky Gap Lodge Golf Resort, Cumberland.' The honored couple met while both were employed at the Second National Bank, Cumberland, and were married at the Kingsley Methodist Church by the late Rev. Jacob Snyder on Jan. 16,1954.Martha Lee (Blue) Perrin is the daughter of the late John and Mary (Stickley) Blue, Fort Ashby, W.Va. Robert Perrin is the son of the late Robert Sr. and Ruth (Imes) Perrin, Chaneysville, Pa.The guests of honor were presented with a white rose corsage and boutonniere by their children, Steve Perrin, Greencastle, Pa.; Fred Perrin, Flintstone; and Cindy Shaffer, Cumberland.Other participants in this evening’s affair included the Rev. Robert Cook, who offered the dinner invocation. Memories and thanks wereshared by the couple’s three children. A Bluegrass ensemble consisting of Bill Becker. Brad Forrest, Bernard Wentling, Bud Mallow, Jeff Munson and J.R. Keplinger provided enjoyable dinner music.A family “This Is Your Life” video was viewed, Numerous family photos were displayed and a time of visitation was enjoyed by all who attended.The couple, their family and many friends continued the celebration with an overnight stay at the lodge and gathering again Sunday morning.Guests traveled from Pennsylvania, Maryland,West Virginia. Iowa. Indiana. Florida, Georgia and Alabama to extend their congratulations.The couple’s extended family include, Steve Perrin and wife Renee; Fred Perrin and wife, Debbie; and Cindy Shaffer and husband, Tom. They have eight grandchildren: Andy Perrin; Becky Leonard and husband, Mike; Megan Long and husband, Mike; Jenny Bolland and husband, Glenn; Jeff Perrin; Scott Perrin; Tyler Shaffer; and Brady Shaffer. They also have three great-grandchildren, Payden Leonard and Katrina and Weber Long.ii
