Impressive Service Highlights York Double Wedding Ceremony SaturdayIn a beautiful double wedding ceremony at the Trinity Lutheran Church Saturday, Miss Leona Lucille York, daughter of Mrs, Rose York Gunderson, became the bride of Herbert Harold Butts, son of Mr, and, Mrs, Elmer Butts, of Alden, and Miss Shirley May York, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Carl York, became the bride of Francis A. Streit, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred A. Streit of Alden.Nearly 400 guests attended the impressive ceremony in which the church was decorated with baskets oL bridal wreath and vases of apple blossoms.Miss Leona York was dressed in a white faille floor length dress fashioned with a sweetheart neckline and embroidered bodice. The sleeves tapered to a point over her hands, and the skirt extended into a long train.Her fingertip veil was caught into a head dress with a seed pearl ornament. She carried a shower bouquet of red roses.Miss Mabel Greenlee, her maid of honor, wore a yellow net formal with lace bodice and dainty sleeves of ruffles and matching ruffled headdress.Her bridesmaid, Mrs. Lorraine Adams, was attired in an identical dress except that it was colored a soft green. ^Peter Butts of Chicago and George Butts of Marengo, brothers of the groom, served as the groomsmen.Herbert Butts is employed 'at the Alemite Plant in Woodstockand has lived in Woodstock allt his life. The bride attended the Harvard schools.They will make their home in .Alden.Miss Shirley York was dressed in a white satin gown with a long train. Her fingertip veil was caught into a halo of seed pearls and she carried a shower bouquet of red roses.Her maid of honor, Mrs. Lucille Fletcher, wore a blue formal with a matching blue net head dress. She carried a bouquet of white carnations.Mrs. Ethel York, her bridesmaid, wore a pink formal with a matching pink headdress. She also carried a bouquet of white carnations.Joseph Streit and William Striet, cousin and brother of the groom, respectively, served as groomsmen.Francis Streit is employed by the Badger-Marine company.The four mothers * wore corsages of white and pink carnations. Four year old Jimmy York, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford York of Walworth served as ringbearer. He carried the four rings in two ! calla lilies.i Selections were played by Mrs.' Schutt on the organ, and Mrs.«Esther Marvin sang “Always,” “I Love You Truly,” and JThe Lord’s Prayer.”- The two couples will spend a two weeks honeymoon in northern United States and Canada.
