Bride, Children Like New HomeMrs. Irene MacGregor, wife of Cpl. Bill MacGregor of Medicine Hat arrived in the city recently from England, to stay with Mr. and Mrs. S. Slater, 366 Fourth street.Mrs. MacGregor, the former Irene Galleymorc, whose home is in London, was accompanied by her two children, Donald and Lynnanne. She was married in 1940, while her husband was training in England. He is now with the 21st army group in Belgium.) In an interview with The News to-'day, Mrs. MacGregor said she thought Canada was a lovely country, as far as she had seen it, and that the children seemed to be enjoying it ifc much as she was.“Since we arrived in Medicine Hat, Donald and Lynsmne have been* surrounded by toys. As you probably know, toys were very scarce in England, and the children had never had many to play with. I was surprised to find that they do not care for candy very much. At first they took to chocolate but now they won’t eat it. Maybe it’s a good thing though.”Speaking of V-E Day, Mrs MacGregor said that their street in London had had their celebration planned months ahead of time.“Each person livihg on our street saved a coupon for sweets, sugar and other delicacies to have a big party for the children. When the day came, a tea party was held on the street, complete with decorations and fairy lights. Everyone sat down to a table laden with food which we had saved. Other than that, we celebrated V-E Day very quietly.’’
