JOSEPH LEON ELLENMiss Mills-Joseph Ellen Are MarriedMiss Donna Ray Mills and Joseph Leon Ellen were married in a 4 p.m. ceremony Sunday at Rose Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. John Kale officiating. Mrs. L. A. Black was organist and Mrs. Robert Hope, soloist, for the ceremony. A reception followed in fellowship hall with the bride’s parents as hosts.Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Ray Mills of route 5, Statesville, the bride graduated from North Iredell High School in 1967 and attended Mitchell Community College for two years. She received an associate degree in nursing May 18 at Forsyth Technical Institute and is to be employed as a staff nurse at Iredell Memorial Hospital beginning June 3.The bridegroom, who is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Odel Ellen, Sr., of 813 Bellview St., Winston-Salem, graduated fromReynolds High School in 1968, studied for two years at Mitchell Community College, and spent one year at North Carolina State University. He is now self employed as a painter.Mr. Mills gave his daughter inmarriage and she wore a formal white jersey gown with long, tapered sleeves, draped empire bodice and detachable train enhanced with sequins and seed pearls. Her elbow-length illusion veil was held by a jersey headpiece accented in seed pearls and she held an all white floral cascade showered in ribbon streamers.Mrs. Allen Impish of Nixon Road was her sister’s matron of honor and only attendant. Her sky blue voile gown with white flocked dots was worn over blue . taffeta and she carried a long-stammed white mum. Mrs. Jean Kckley Bridger of Wayne, Pa., Mrs. Fred Wall of Moclts-ville and Miss Alexis Mendaloff of Statesville, were honorary bridesmaids.The bridegroom’s father was best man and his brothers, Ralph Odell Ellen, Jr., of Wilmington, and Jeffrey Ellen of Winston-Salem, were ushers.Mrs. Mills chose peach linen and the bridegroom’s mother wore beige for the ceremony.
