Mr. r Rhyne was the unfortunate victim o w of an automobile accident in West 1 ill Gastonia Saturday afternoon, sus- \ ls taining a complete fracture of the j ‘ skull, from which he never rallied, ?dying in a hospital Saturday night j i- about o’clock. v. Funeral services were conducted at the home Sunday afternoon'' at 1:30 o’clock by Rev, Geo. R. fGillespie, assisted by Rev. R, J. Hunter and Dr. C. FT. Adams. The floral tributes were' many and beautiful, with hundreds of*wfriends in attendance. Services -cat the grave were in charge of I le Gastonia Council No. 68. Junior m | Order of United American Mechanics. Mr. Rhyne had been a * member of the First Presbyterian i-ft- church since boyhood. Quiet, re-h served and unassuming to a mark-1(j ed degree, he was loved and re-,, - spected by all for his sterling * Christian character and worth to ps the community. For years he wasJ. the dose associate of Dr. Adams aiand Mr. Gillespie in mission work and one of the untiring factors ot in the work of Piedmont Chapel and Sunday school, re Mr. fthyne was twice married, his first wife having been MissElla Ha milton. Of this unionthree children survive, these being Mrs. Willie Wofford, Robert L. Rhyne and Charles L.
