Byers, of the State Board of Charities, has been sent the County ComnAmmtrs the question of building a new infirmary with modern conveniences has again been agitating the minds of the people. That new buildings are needed and that very fejadly, too, there can be no 4onWjt about. The question of bonding the county for $45,000 was voted Upon at the last election but was lost by 130 votes. This was a general surprise to the people here, as it was supposed that the project would carry without any doubt. However, too many taxpaying farmers thought the old buildings could be repaired and answer just as well, and therefore the measure wan lost. The people of this■* a it - % *.*. a* a * t m *place feel keenly the disgrace which has been brought upon the county by the publicity which the matter haft’ received. It is nowvery probable that it will be again submitted to a popular vote, and in such case there is little doubt hut what the question will be easily carried. The most objectionable feature in the present state of affairs, aside from the poor condition of the buildings, is that the males are not separated entirely from thei females, and that the insane patients havej not the proper quarters nor eare. Superintendent ana Mrs. Zimmerman deserve great credit for the good order . kept considering the condition of affairs.Mrs. Edith Bhaitk, wife of P. 0.
