Case Of John Edwin MyersTo Be Heard In TahokaJohn Edwin Myers, charged with the murder of Arthur De-Kraai, will be tried in Lynn County in the KWh District Court before Judge Truett Smith.Judge James Moore. 145th District Court. Cherokee County, in whose court Myers was tried and convicted in March. 1962. has approved an order changing retrial of the case to Lynn County.The state Court of Criminal Appeals reversed the conviction of Myers, holding the jury in the trial had been guilty of misconduct The case was remanded to Cherokee County, from whence it had tieen transferred from Howard County.Myers m in iht Howard Countyjail where he has been held sinceSept, 1961, the date of the allegedslaying.Judge Smith has indicated he is willing to try the case Gil Jones, Howard County district attorney,who prosecuted the case, has been hoping to have the case reset inI some West Texas county.The trial, tentatively set for the next term of the 106th District!
