Bruce Gardner of Afton will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary on Tuesday May 23rd at a wedding dance to be, given in theit honor at the Stake r Recreation Hall and lounge room at 9:00 p m.The Gardners were married in May 1894 by President George Osmond when roads were bad and high water prevented their going to the Salt Lake Temple, where they were sealed to each other in September of the same year.Mrs. Gardner was born in Coalville Utah February 2, 1877 She came to Lower Star Valley in 1889 with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. John Baxter. They later moved to Afton where she met and married Bruce and has sirtce made her home. “Lizzie”, as she is affectionately known, served faithfully in the ward and stake Primary for 28 years. She has been an active Relief Society worker since young womanhood. She was Literary Class Leader in the North Ward Relief Society when ill health made it necssary for her to spend the past two winters in California.Bruce was born at West Jordan, Utah on February 5, 1874 He came to Afton in 1890 with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archibald Gardner where he has been engaged in the milling business until his retire- c. ment last year. 1He has served the community as City Councilman fdr five (years, j Constable eight years and School t Board Trustee before the consolidation of the district.At this fiftieth annversary the r Gardners have seven children, all living, twenty-seven grand childrenand ten great-grand children. They are looking and feeling better than they have for several years. They are great boosters of Star Valley and their host of friends wish them increased good health and happiness for many years to come.-V-tFuc
