They left via Sparland and Peoria Tuesday morning, on the early train.Thursday morning of last week, at the residence of parents, Miss Minnie. Walker, the Laeon agent of tbe O. A. R. R. were married. Rev Smith officiating. The wedding was a quiet affair, though not wholly unexpected, yet being so suddenly consummated, it was a surprise to many of their friends *but as they had fairly oaught their breath, all united in extending hearty congratulations and well wishes for thefuturo of the couple. They embarked for a 10 day's visit at liawndale with the groom's relations.On Tuesday evening. May 13th, at theresidence of Dr L. 0. Thompson. J. L. Stratton of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Miss Oallsta Thompson of this city were united in marriage, Rev Hewitt of Peoria (an uncle of the bride) performing the rite. About 75 of the intimate friends of the family witnessed the event. The bride is a talented, refined and accomplished lady. The groom we have not the fortune to be acquainted with, but believe him to bedeserving of tbe prize he has won. Mr Stratton is extensively engaged In the lumber trade 1q Kalamazoo, Mich,, where tbe newly wedded pair will make their future homo.Mrs O. B Read of Champaign, is visiting her numerous friends here.
