Mrs. John Mulroney of Mallard, was united in. marriage at Barger, Texas, I to Miss Isabella Martyr of Des Moines. The happy couple were accompanied by a friend of the groom and a sister of the bride. Following the cere-[(monv they -enjoyed a 'wedding trip through New Mexico. They will make Their home at Barger, where Mr. Mulroney is employed by the Phillips OS Petroleum Corporation. He is manager and pitcher for the PhUlips GO baseball team and during the winter months he has a fine position, in the Company’s laboratories.The bride is a Des Moines young lady. For several years she was employed as stenographer in one of the leading banks in that city. Later she went to Omaha where she held a similar position’. She has visited Em-metsburg and Mallard on different occasions. She is a young lady of splendid appearance and refinement and she has hosts of friends both in Dea Moines and in this county who will bedelighted to elarn of her marriage.The groom is one of the best known t young men in Palo Alto county. Fol-; lowing his graduation from his local schools he entered the law department of the state university of Iowa where he was not only a good student, but a successful athlete as well. For three j years he was star pitcher of the University team. Following his graduation he spent a couple of seasons with the Des Mines Demons, of the Western baseball league, and he later spent n j few years in professional baseball in j the New England states. For some time he was a pitcher with the Boston Red Sox. it was while with this team that he was struck in the head by a ball* an injury which eventually terminated his connection with big league baseball.
