Mrs Beverly Bowser, David W. Sword wed in local First Brethren Church Saturday afternoon. Miss Beverly Jean Bowser daughter of Mr and Mrs Samuel Bowser, 720 Ringgold St, became the bride of David Wayne Sword, son of Mrs and Mrs John C Sword, Clear Spring RD 21m the First Brethren Church The Rev Wendell E Kent officiated at the 230 pm double ring ceremony The organist’ Mrs Ronald E Barnes, Waynesboro RD 1, and vocal soloist’ Barry L Rowe, 37 Mt Airy Avenue, presented the traditional nuptial recital Given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the hitar by her father the bride chose a gown of Chantilly lace fashioned with a princess Silhouette, scalloped portrait neckline, long tapered sleeves and terminating in an attached ace train which fell to chapel ength .A petal headpiece enhanced its pearls and crystals and finished with a narrow bow of peau de soe held her tiered shoulder length veil of illusion She carried white pompons centered with a cluster of rosebuds mounted on a lace covered Bible As matron of honor Mrs Joseph DeGrange. 34S Potomac St., wore a gown of rose crepe styled with short sleeves and empire waistline accented with a wide band of white Venice lace A matching bow headdress with attached veil completed her attire and she carried a colonial bouquet of white pompons and pink carnations .Attired in mint green gowns styled identically to the honor attendant’s the bridesmaids were Mrs Charles Rienks, 135 Potomac St. Miss Joyce Musselman, 257 Park Street and Miss Paula Clever, 720 Maple Street The flower girl, Miss Patt Jo Bowser Highfield, wore an empire gown of rose crepe and carried a basket of pink and white pompons. Douglas Oliver, Orchard Road, served as ring bearer The best man was Paul M Bowers, Hagerstown, and ushers were Samuel J Bowser, Highfield, John R. Sword, Arlington, Va, and Gerald Sword, Baltmore Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held in the church social room Assisting with the serving were Miss Danny A Sword, Miss Emma Bowser, Miss Jane Bowser, Mrs Samuel J Bowser and Miss Alma Bowser The couple will reside at Waynesboro R, D . following a wedding trip to an unannounced destination The bride is a 1966 graduate of the Waynesboro Area Senior High School and is employed as a secretary in the law offices of Maxwell and Bridgers ‘s 1964 graduate of the Clear Spring High School, the bridegroom is employed by Sharrett Volkswagen Inc Hagerstown t he bridegrooms parent, hosted the post rehearsal party held in the social rooms of the church, Mr. and Mrs. David Wayne Sword
