Miss Lorraine Thies Weds Arthur StewardIn a double ring ceremony that took place at 5 p.m. April 23 in St. John Evangelical church, Ben-senville, Miss Lorraine May Thies, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Ernst Thies of Itasca, became the bride of Arthur Steward of Chicago. The Rev. Edward Bergstraesser officiated at the ceremony amid a background of white lilies.Mrs. Herman Magers served as soloist and organist during the ceremony in which Mr. Thies have his daughter in marriage.For her marriage the bride wore a gown of white lace and nylon fashioned with high neckline, long sleeves and full skirt. A seed pearl headpiece held her fingertip veil in place and she carried a bouquet of pink roses, stephanotis and ivy leaves.Miss Doris Reindl of Arlington Heights was maid of honor and bridesmaids were the bride’s cousins, Mrs. Rober Streetz, Mrs. Leroy Holmquist and Miss Darlene Rohressen. Miss Shirley Mae Willert and Miss Nancy Streetz served as junior bridesmaids and 4-year-old Linda Herzog, also a I cousin of the bride, was flower girl.All attendants wore identical j ballerina length gowns of nylon | taffeta with stoles of veiling toi match their gowns. Their gowns'(Community Camera were in shades of orchid, aqua, yellow, melon, green, and pink respectively with the flower girl in orchid also. Linda carried a basket of mixed roses and the other attendants carried crescent bouquets of mixed spring flowers. They wore picture hats to complete their costumes.Tommy Holmquist, 3, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer wearing a* white suit and carrying a white satin pillow with the wedding rings.Harold Blum, brother-in-law of the groom, was best man and ushers were Roger Streetz, the bride’s brother, Raymond Thies, and her cousin, James Kouzmanoff.A dinner and reception for 20$ guests was held in the Bensenville firehouse. Mrs. Thies received ilt an aqua dress with white accessories and an orchid corsage. The groom’s sister, Mrs. Harold Blum of Chicago, wore a blue dress with white accessories and an orchid corsage.After a 10-day Florida honeymoon, the newlyweds are temporarily residing with the bride’s parents until the conlfeietlhn of their own home in Mount Prospect.The bride is a graduate of Arlington Heights high school. Her bridegroom is employed by the Ambassador East hotel in Chicago.
