Mr* and Mrs. Charles E. Marsh, 8124 S. Marshfield ave., celebratedtheir golden wedding anniversary at a family dinner last evening at The Barn on South State rd., and on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. they are holding open house for their relatives and friends.The couple hare a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn M.Carsey, two grandchildren, Barbara Louise and Carole Jean, and a son-in-law, Edward F. Carsey. all of whom live with Mr. and Mrs. Marsh.Mr. Marsh is a retired police operator. He was known as Operator 13, as that was his star number. He was on the police force for 45 years and. was retired at the age of 63 years. He is a nephew of the late Fred H. Marsh, who was chief of police under Mayor Dewitt C. Cregier. Born in Oregon, 111.. Mr. Marsh will be 82 years on September 23. His wife, who will be 73 years old on “October 16, is the former Mabel J. O'Leary. They were married in her home, then located at 123 E. 25th st. She andher daughter are members of the Drexel Park Presbyterian church.
