Wedding reception becomes family reunionSharon Mascheck and Gary West were united in marriage at Christ United Methodist Church on April 27. The church, undoubtedly the most picturesque house of worship in town, was decorated in a simple but eloquent manner.he flowers of choice were gladioluses and roses. The Rev. Harry West conducted the rites, and Luke Childress provided the music. The bride walked down the aisle on the arm of her son, Mark. Gary’s son acted as his best man, and Judy Person was Sharon’s attendant.Judy also acted as a coordinator. Some 40 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the ceremony, she still was in her coordinating clothes. Will say that she cleaned up nicely in the time period. Not only did Judy get to the church on time, she had seven minutes to spare. The reception followed at the Dewees-Remschel House, which is a perfect setting for such an affair. And thanks to Sharon’s sister-in-law, Molly Akin, it willbe some time before those people attending from Stockdale will see such a wide array of delicious finger foods. It was a very nice wedding and reception, and it also served as an Akin family reunion.
