A marriage license was issued Wed-, | nesday to Robert F. Sheagley, son of | Mr. and Mrs. George Sheagley, of i Cutler and Mary A. Jarvis, daughter of Mrs. Enoch Jarvis, of near Sedalia. This was the first marriage license granted in the temporary court-house and was issued under strenuous circumstances. The record book had to be unearthed from a heap of older ones of its kind, some of the necessary papers were in a locked drawer of a | desk which had not yet been placed | into position after its removal, and ;the great seal of Carroll county was still lying within the doors of the clerk’s safe at the old building.
