May 5.—Mr*.Michael Londot, living west of the city,narrowly escaped from drowning whitedriving to this city. As a result of thoheavy rain water backed up and overflowed the road near the plate glass work* and when Mrs. Londof's horse started through the water, which was about two feet deep, it missed its footing «nd slipped over the bank. It happened that Harvey Yeager, the rural mall carrier, was passing, and he hastily went to the assistance of Mrs. Londot.
