Guava .AveEscorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a floor length empire gown of lace and symphony, made by her mother. Lace trimmed the high neckline and deeply cuffed sleeves. Holding her veil was a cluster of daisies. White daisiesalso trimmed her long train A droppearl necklace and matching earrings comprised her jewelrv.Yellow and white daisies and baby 's breath fashioned her cascade bouquet.Serving the bride as honor maid was Miss Beth Wilson in a gown of pastel yellow with lace bodice and sleeves. Identically styled were the pastel blue gowns of the bridesmaids. Miss Carol Phelps and Miss Teresa Garcia, cousin of the bride. All three carried bouquets of yellow and white daisies and blue carnations.Serving the bridegroom as best man was Tony Machado. Jr. Ushers were Art Flecher and Merrill Chill.Cousins of the bride. Sabrina and Richard Flores were the flower girl and ring bearer.The Golden Greek Restaurant was setting for the wedding reception. Centering the bride’s table was a four tiered cake made bv her bridegroom’s mother. Decorated with icing roses, swans and columns, it was topped with a miniature bride and groom beneath a floral arch and wedding bell.Serving the cake was Eleanor Cozza and Mrs. Antonio Flores, aunt of the bride. Serving punch was Sgt. Tom Cunningham Attending the guest book was the bride s sister. Miss Barbara Sue Lance. Also assisting with serving was Mrs. Charles Garcia.For her daughter’s wedding Mrs. Lance wore a turquoise blue dress with silver accessories and a corsage of baby white roses. Ed Benharl. assistant curator, was chairman of the event.Movie guests were aLso shown a preview of the new ecology exhibitfeaturing photos of nature in the valley by Jim Rudolph The theme is P-L-U-S “Pre.serve Lompoc’s Unique Surroundings.”Another exhibit of large sea shells and marine life is shown in an exhibit case donated by Santa Barbara Museum of History.Guests looked at a kodachrome scrapbook by Ed Benhart. It contains views of pictographs and petroglyphs. rock paintings in caves done by Indians of Chumash tribal origin. Scenes are at Hurricane Deck. Pond Rock, !*ortero Canyon. Kinevan Ranch. Carriza Plains, Painted Rock, Washburn Ranch, Honda Canyon, Bates Ridge, Buellton, San Marcos Pass, Castle Rock and Cottonwood Camp.Robert •Morris, publicity chairman, is sending communications to 100 influential foundations and corporationsthroughout the nation to appeal for funds. This mail campaign is part of an effort to obtain grant support for the museum’s future activities. Emphasis is on personnel and salaries to keep the museum open seven days a week, rather than two afternoons. The mu-seum’s budget has dropped to slightly over $1,000 to date. Contacted are Carnegie Corporation, Commonwealth Fund, Duke Endowment, Samuel S. Pels Fund. Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, Josiah Macy, Jr. Foundation. A. W Mellon Educational and Charitable Trust, Rockefeller Foundation, Russel Sage Foundation, Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, (ieneral Telephone Electronics. Santa Barbara County, International Telephone and Telegraph Corporation, Standard Oil Foundation, Gravity Research F'oundation, Howard Hughes, U.S. Department of Labor, HEW; President’s Science Advisory Board Projected are more than 80 others The research for foundation fund information was done by James M. Russell, Adult Services Librarian at Lompoc Public Library.Anyone having a knowledge of additional likely sources of financial aid for the museum, is asked to contact the museum staff.
