Congratulates Mr. BurnsThe New York and Chicago news-papers are announcing the wedding of Owen Burns, of Sarasota, and Miss Verona Hill Freeman, of New York, to take place in June. Mr. Burns came from Chicago a year or so ago and “discovered” Sarasota. He purchased a tract olearth w hich the natives considered of little value, filled, graded and ornamented it, cut it up into lots and put down paving—and then they waked up to find that Owen Burns had made a small fortune and had given Sarasota the greatest boost in the history of that pretty place. Since then Owen has been keeping things moving, and we have heard more of Saraso.ta than ever before. The boosters down there got together to help Owen boost and made him president of the Board of trade, andIthey have done some fine things for the town since then. Whichis all very nice to everybody exceptthe croakers. So far as we may b concerned, we might selfishly le gret that Mr. Burns did not see St Petersburg first and cast his lot| here. Probably he would have gotten better results for his enterprise and energy, we would have one more live wire here, and cer-| tain I y he would have been more famous. But, with a nice bunchi .of clean money in his pocket, leading the boosters on to do better thiugB yet for his town, healthly and jolly and about to be married, well, we opine that under these crcnmstances Mr. Burns “ha9 nokick coming to him.” So here is wishing him much joy.—St. Petersburg Independent.
