Miss Cheryl Horton, Edward Heflin Wed In Double-Ring Nuptials Easter SundayThe First Presbyterian Churchwas the setting Easter Sunday for the afternoon wedding of M iss Cheryl Sue Horton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle F. Horton of Rockley Heights, and Edward Allen Heflin. He is the son of Cmdr. and Mrs. Edward A. Heflin of Albuquerque, N.M.Officiating for the double-ring ceremony was the Rev. John Doane. Dr. Clyde English, organist, presented a program of nuptial music and accompaniedsoloist Larry Christian who sang “0 Perfect Love,” ‘‘Entreat Me Not to Leave Three” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” The wedding was followed by a reception for 250 at Lakeview Countrv Club.90The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a satin peau de soie gown designed along semi-formal empire lines and featuring a scalloped neckline, long pointed sleeves and an A-line skirt. Ap~ pliqued original French lace highlighted the front and‘waist of the gown and an oriental fan train, covered with silk illusion, fell from the waist in the back.Her mantilla silk illusion train, finished with French twist roll, was held by a tiara clip of cultured pearls and crystals. Attached were four tiers of silk illusion bouffant veiling.The sorority and fraternity flowers of the bride and groom were represented in the bride’s colonial bouquet of detachable white rose corsage and violets. Later she presented her mother and the mother of t h e bridegroom with a rose from the bouquet. Her jewelry was a single strand of pearls.Miss Susan Heflin of Shep-herdstown, sister of the groom, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Michelle Shearer of Morgantown, Miss Patsy Basil of Weirton and Miss Mary Pat Kasun of Charleston, both sorority sisters of the bride. Miss Luann Howard of Jeannette, Pa. was junior maid of honor.All the attendants wore floor-length semi-formal gowns of nile green with empire waistlines, elbow sleeves trimmed in ruffles, and chiffon trains trimmed in nile green rosebud trim. Their headdresses were Dior bows matching the gowns. The maid of honor had an attached veil. Each carried a single white rose, except the honor attendant who carried two.Miss Cela Cay DeCarlo, thedaughter of Mr. and Mrs. JamesservingSalem,Puckettwere Mrs. Fred Dix ofN.J. and Mrs. Johnof Roanoke, Va.MRS. EDWARD ALLEN HEFLIN IIDeCarlo, was the flower girl. Her gown was the same style as the other attendants, in yellow.Thomas Heflin of Albuquerque, brother of the groom, was the best man, and ushers were Fred Horton, brother of the bride, David Ashley of Morgantown; John Puckett of Roanoke, Va.; and Richard Mull of Brewster, N.Y. Ringbearer was J. J. Powell, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Powell.Mrs. Horton, mother of the bride, chose an ensemble coat ,and sleeveless dress of silk saki fabric in blush pink. The coat featured bracelet - length sleeves and large shawl collar attached by a small bow. Herhat was a wide - brimmed panama straw with pink roses, and her accessories matched her ensemble.Mrs. Heflin, mother of t h e bridegroom, was dressed in a two -piece worsted and silk celery suit with three - quarter length sleeves, stand-up collar and her hat, a large rose,matched her suit.Carnation corsages were presented to the grandmothers of the bride, Mrs. Mabel McGin-ley of Granville and Mrs. R. J.Horton Sr., of Cheat Road, and to the groom’s grandmother,Mrs. C. H. Staub of Inwood, N. JDuring the reception which followed, Mrs. Eleanor Howard of Jeannette, presided at the guest book with Mrs. James P.Halev of Morgantown. Aides ini win. Pa.As her going - away attire, the bride chose a three -piece knitted suit. The skirt and shell were green and the jacket yellow and green. She wore the white rose corsage from her bouquet.The newlywed couple are now residing at 768 Willey Street.The bride is a 1963 graduate of Morgantown High School and will receive her BA degree in sociology in May. She has beena member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and Student Legislature at the University.Mr. Heflin, a 1962 graduate of Highland High School in Albuquerque, will also receive his degree from WVU in May in advertising and marketing.
