Jean Carter isbride ofMiss Jean Carter and Joseph David Anthony Valdez were married on Feb. 25 at the Salt Lake Temple in Salt LakeCity, Utah.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Royal A. Carter of Columbia, S.C. and is a graduate of Brigham Young University. The bridegroom is the son of Rosemary Valdez of Albuquerque and the late Joseph L. Valdez of Cloud-croft. He is a graduate of New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell and is manager of the Golden Spike at the Lodge in Cloudcroft. The bride is employed with the New Mexico Rehabilitation Centerfor the Blind. .Close friends and family comprised the wedding party. Following the wedding ceremony, photographs were takn in the bridal area tin the temple grounds. A buffet luncheon was then held for thebridal party.The bride ‘designed and made her bridal gown which featured an empire waistline, long sleeves and cuffs. The boice os lace was encrustedValdez Iwith pearls enhancing the pearl trim and matching lace on the cuffs. A rounded neckline was accented with a small ruffle. She wore a floral headpice with pearl accents and a finger-tip veil. She carried a bouquet of peack silk flowers, baby’s breath,and centered with angTOhid.Prior to the wedding, the bride and bridegroom were honored at a dinner at the Anderson home in Sandy, Utah.The couple honeymooned at the Sherwood Hill Ski Resort in Utah and visited the Logan, Provo, St. George, and Manti temples. Later they visited with the bridegroom’s family in Albuquerque.Upon returning from their honeymoon, a reception and dance was held at the cultural Hall of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Alamogordo.
