Carroll HereIn a formal ceremony read Friday evening in the First Presbyterian church at 7 o’clock. Miss Ruie Loretta Slinger became the bride of David F. Carroll of Fremont. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Slinger and the bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Carroll of Pre-mont.The Rev. Andrew Byers officiated for the double-ring vows. Commodore ferns formed an alter background for the tall candelabra and baskets of whitestock, chrysanthemums and cal-la lilies.Miss Shirley Colvin was at the piano. She accompanied JimmieFrye who sang “Because” as apre-huptial selection and “The Lord’s Prayer” during the ceremony.The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her bridal gown of white lace and net over tatin was fashioned with a molded lace bodice and yoke of sheer net outlined with lace flowers appliqued with seed pearls. The lull net skirt fell from a narrow satin cord at the deep V waistline int^ a cathedral train edged with o wide band of lace and lace panel in front. The long sleeves tapered to a point over the hand.Her circular fingertip veil of net, edged with lace flowers fell from a small white lace colehe trimmed with small white flowers and pearls given the bride by her two grandmothers. She carried a white orchid and trenched pink carnations on a white Bible.Miss Frances Carroll, sister ofwore an orchid dress. Wesley Jay Thompson was the candle lighter.Attending the groom as best man was Glenn Purdum of Pre-mont. Groomsmen were Pete Roselnd of McAllen and W. All the attendants wore orchid floor length dresses, made of lace and net over taffeta, similar to the brides dress. They earned cascade bouquets of deep orchid carnations.Sherry Carroll, flower girl, alsoClarence Mabry, Jr. and Jimmy Langham of San Antonio were Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Mabry and family Mabry, Jr. is a tennis pro from Seven Oaks Club and Langham is from San Antonio Country Club. They were here to play an exhibition game for the tournament and conduct a clinic.
