Haynes’ sporting lodge was the scene of unwonted festivities lust night. Deft hands had decorated the large reception room, where the red, white and blue, mingling with tin- dark rich green from the woods, produced a charming effect, heightened by the soft glow of the colored lights. Guests, numbering more than thirty, were gathered thereto witness the marriage of A. B. Haynes, the well-known guide, to Miss Nellie (i. Williams, one of Great Pond’s most popular young ladies.At U.15, to the music of the wedding march, the bridal party descended the stairs, and were met by Kev. I). H. Smith, who performed the ceremony in his impressive manner.The bride was very daintily gowned in white serge, moire, and lace. The happy couple received many congratulations.A collation of fruit, confectionery, nuts and the bride's cuke was served, and the evening was very pleasantly passed, indeed, tin* wee sma* hours” came all too soon.The cuisine was under the management of t he Alligator chef, John Williams. The host and hostess, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Haynes, aided by the untiring efforts of tie- bride and groom, did all in their power to make the event successful, and one long to be remembered. We came away in t he glorious sunlight of the Sabbath morning, feeling that we had been royally •entertained, and wishing the newly married people a long life of prosperity and happiness.
