Miss Robbie Foster Becomes Bride of Sanford PowellMiss Robbie Foster and Mr. Sanford POwell were united in marriage Saturday evening, February 21, at seven o'clock at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Lamar County. The Reverend Jim Reeher, assistedby the Reverend JamesPaige, performed the double«ring ceremony.The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Robert A. Foster of Barnesville, and the late Mr. Foster of Jackson. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs Frpest S. Powell ofJackson.Prior to the ceremony, Mrs. Howard English of Griffin, organist, presented a program of wedding music. During the ceremony Mrs. Virgil Pace of Jackson sang “Because and “The Wedding Prayer”.and a white cymbidium orchid completed her outfit. Following the wedding, a reception was held in the church annex. .Mrs. Danny Letson of Forsyth kept thebride’s book. Serving at the, # _reception were Mrs. Reginald Mangham and Mrs. A1 Cook of Griffin, and Mrs. Randy Moore of Jackson. Rice bags were given out by little Misses Vanessa Kim-bell of Jackson and MissyHerbert of Carrollton.After a wedding trip to Callaway Gardens, Mr. and Mrs. Powell are making their home on Route 3, Jackson.Mr. Bradley Thomason ofJackson served as best man.• »Ushers were Messrs. Randy Moore of Jackson and A1 Cook of Griffin.Mrs. Jimmy Herbert of Carrollton, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. Her gown was of red silhouette knit trimmed in ribboned lace. She carried a nosegay of daisies and red ribbons.The bridesmaid was Mrs.lt;Angie Kimbell of Jackson, cousin of the bride. She also wore a gown of red silhouette knit and carried a nosegay of daisies and red ribbons.9The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. J. S. (Hap) Foster of Griffin. She wore a floor length princess style gown of white knit trimmed in beaded lace fashioned with a round neck and bell sleeves. Her veil of white lace was attached to a knit head piece trimmed in beaded lace. Her only accessory was a single pearl choker given to her by the groom as a wedding gift. The wedding gown and veil were made by Mrs. Henry Jarrellof Jackson. Powell, parents of the groom, hosted a rehearsal supper at Tomlin’s Restaurant for the wedding party and their families. At the rehearsal gifts were presented to the weddingparticipants.Mrs. Powell, mother of the groom, chose a dress of blue knit with beige accessories.
