Four Brookfielders toFSing in European TourRROOKFIE1.D - Four Brook-' field young people will be with the All*Ohio Youth Choir when that group tours 10 European countries ihis summer.The Choir, which performed at last year's Ohio State Fair, will go on a 22-day tour beginning July 13.Those from Brookfield include Karen Saker. Carol Schultz. Robert Wheat and John Marian lit 1 who will ioin with 13ft other young people from public and private high schools all over Ohio presenting the singing tour in France. England. V\ales. Holland. West Germany, East Germany. Switzerland, Italy. Spain and Portugal.6 Director of the Choir is Glen-d ville Thomas of Zanesville, and h he will lead the singing tourists, i, Thomas said the choir mem-p bers originated the idea for the n tour including an agreement that each would arrange for his or her e own finances for the Slt;!00 tripp While the group has the official r blessing of Governor James A. , Rhodes and will bill itself as- “Ohio's Singing Ambassadors,” y. Thomas said neither state nors federal money will help finance r it. He said a number of concerts around Ohio between now anddeparture will help defray costs, and that most youngsters alsoare being aided by local fundraising projects or arc being underwritten by merchants In Brookfield Twp. the Brookfield High School Chorus t sponsoring the concert by Th^ All-Ohio Youth Choir on April 4 at 3 3ft p.m. af the Brookfield High School Auditorium to help defray costsFirst performances on the tour will bo the day before departure from New York City when three concerts will be given at the New York World's Fair.Thomas said that all the concerts would be keyed to the county being visited and that gilts representative of Ohio's economy would be presented to officials of each community.The group will return to New York on August 5 Miss Saker is now a freshmen student at Kent Stale I niversitv and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Saker. Vienna, Brookfield Twp.; Miss Schultz, is a senior at Brookfield High and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Alvin Schultz. 51 Francis St.: Robert Wheat is a senior and the son olt; Mr. and Mrs Robert Wheat, 135 Boyd St. and John Mada-z III, son of Mr and Mrs John Madasz Jr. Brookfield Center, also a senior at Brookfield High School.
