Wilma Abney services are held in TahokaRd. Church of ChristWILMA ABNEYServices for Wilma Lucille Abney, 74, of Brownfield were held March 22 in the Tahoka Road Church of Christ with Homer Jones of Wellman officiating. Burial was in Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.Mrs. Abney died March 20 in Brownfield Regional Medical Center.She was born Sept. 8, 1922 in Weinert and was married to Ray D. Abney on Oct 1,1956 in Brow nfield.Mrs. Abney and her husband moved to Rattan, Okla. in 1979 and returned to Brownfield in 1996.She was a member of the Tahoka Road Church of Christ.She is survived by her husband; three sons--Elbert Rice of Red Oak, Don Abney of Patterson, La. and Roy Rice of Brownfield and two daugh-ters--Stella Roe of Brownfield and Kay Abney of Fayetteville, Ark.Mrs. Abney is also survived by two brothers--Le Roy Williams of San Diego, Calif, and Edwin C. Williams of Livermore, Calif, and by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.Grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers.Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc, 8008 Slide Road, Suite 12-A, Lubbock, Texas, 79424.
