LANTERN SLIDES AID “JESSEJAMES” STARTyrone Power, who is seen in the title role of Darryl F. Zanuok’s production, “Jesse James,” 20th Century-Fox technicolor epic playing at the Ma-! jestic Theatre in Oran Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, learned to play the famous outlaw by studying 350 lantern slides, 30 years old, showing the real Jesse in different poses.Henry King, who directed the film, borrowed the collection of slides from ; A. D. Hadley, a historian who has col-i lected many souvenirs of Jesse James ! and his gang.The slides had been used originally , by a tent show lecturer who enter-i tained the youth of 30 years ago who had no motion pictures. Although cracked by age and faded, they gave a good insight into the mannerisms of Jesse James and his brother Frank.“Jesse James” stars, in addition to Tyrone Power, Henry Fonda, Nancy Kelly and Randolph Scott.
