SummerWe’re going to have an early spring, and mild, hot weather this summer according to Emil and Frieda Rinne of HanoverPark.The Rinnes, who will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, recall thatback in 1918 when they weremarried, the weather was almost identical to Spring '68. Since weather often repeats itself, the Rinnes are expecting a ‘‘long, hot summer.”Life-long area residents,Emil was born in Ontarioville, one of the five children of Wil-a Rinne. deceasedborncouple still attends the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in which she was baptized.EMIL AND Frieda were married March 24, 1918 in her parents’ home. In the early years of their marriage they farmed, first on the Rinne property on Lake Street and then on the Mason farm on Irving Park. In 1921 they bought their first home on Lake Street and opened a combination restaurant, lunchroom and gasoline station right next door.Yearsthe restaurantproperty was sold and converted into a home. The couple opened a second “R i n n e's” Restaurant in 1940. Since 1962 this restuarant has been known as Bill and Hazel’s and is run by a nephew and niece.
