Pinnix-PoteatPhyllis Marie Pinnix ot Hilton Road, Burlington, and Thomas Lamont Poteat of Cornelia Drive, Graham, were married Saturday, Feb. 27,1999, at 3 p.m. at Miracle Temple Church of God in Christ, Burlington. Bishop Ralph Harris officiated, and pianist was Stephen M. Long.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Lee Pinnix of Gray Street, Burlington. The bridegroom is the son of Thomas William Poteat of Hall Avenue,Burlington, and the late AliceCatherine Poteat.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white shantung gown with Alencon lace, a princess-style bodice with sequins and pearls, V’d waist, full lace-trimmed skirt and cathedral train with lace appliques. Her fingertip illusion veil was secured to a pearl headband, and she carried a bouquet of white andburgundy roses, babies’ breath and ivy.Matron of honor was Andrea Ingram of Graham, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids wereAngell Poteat of Burlington, daughter of the bridegroom, and Cashala Pinnix of Graham, niece of the bride.David Pinnix of Graham, brother of the bride, was best man. Ushers were Gregory Pinnix of Raleigh, son of the bride, and James Miles Jr. of Graham and Jody Walker of Burlington, cousins of the bride.Flower girl was Dasja Pinnix of Kernersville, granddaughter of the bride, and ring bearer was Trenton Pinnix of Graham, nephew of the bride.Wedding director was Sharon Kelly of Greensboro, and guest registrar was Robin Pinnix of Graham, sister-in-Mrs. Thomas Poteat Phyllis Pinnixlaw of the bride.The bride’s parents entertained with a reception at the Graham Civic Center.The bride attended Jordan Sellars High School; graduated from Cummings HighSchool; and attended Monroe Business College, Bronx, N Y.
