Mr. Houpe,Miss BeckhamAre MarriedIn a ceremony Thursday evening, March 17, at the Cochran Street Baptist Church, Miss Nancy Beckham, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Lester Beckham, route 2, Statesville, became the bride of William Don Houpe. Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William Don Houpe, route 5, Statesville.The bride la a graduate of Central High School and is a member of the sophomore class at Appalachian State Teachers College, Boone.Mr. Houpe graduated from Harmony High School and is a member of the senior clsa at MilUgan College, Term.The seven o'clock ceremony, simple and impressive, was conducted by the bride's father, in the presence of a small group, principally members of the two families and a few dose friends.Vases of white gladioli were at the altar. Recorded music was played as a prelude to the service.The bridal couple, who were unattended, entered the church together.The bride wore a dressmaker suit of pale pink faille, with hat of pink flowers and a corsage ofwhite roses.The bride's mother wore a pale blue suit, with white hat, and corsage of white carnations.
