Brown is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Brown, Oakland City.Two heart-shaped wreaths of white silk rosebuds, baby’s breath and greenery edged with ruffled lace hung from lomg white satin streamers was placed on each side of the lighted cross. Candelabra trimmed with silk rosebuds, greenery and white bows flanked each side of the altar. The unity candle was placed on the altar. In front of each candelabra was a wicker basket containing red silk rosebuds and baby’s breath. These same candelabra were used 25 years ago for her parents’ wedding. Candles decorated the windows and the aisles of the church. Pews were marked with bows trimmed with red rosebuds and greenery.Soloist was the Rev. James Welton, who was accompanied on the organ by Jeff Gentry, cousin of the bride.The bride’s gown was fashioned by the bride’s mother. The bodice was of rose-point lace with tiny buttons trimming the back and wrists. Hand clipped lace appliques embroidered with pearls, circled the scoop neckline. The flowing skirt of white silk polyester extended into a chapel length train. The skirt of the dress featured large lace insert embroidered with pearls at the bottom and rose appliques on the hem, which was edged in rose lace. The under skirt was trimmed with five inch rose lace ruffling extended into the train and hand embroidered with white pearls.Her veil was edged in matching lace and made of silk illusion. Rose appliques, beads and pearls trimmed thelace caplet.Her bouquet was a cascade of white silk rosebuds, holly, stephanotis and white flocked baby’s breath. White lace streamers tied in lover’s knots, holly and white roses extended to the hemline of her dress.She carried a white lace handerchief hand embroidered with her wedding date, and given to her by her sister, Gina Wilhite.Something old and borrowed were earrings of her late great-grandmother, Nora. McConnell, which belongs to her cousin, Kanda Walden. She wore a new locket, a gift from the groom, and a blue garter.Becky Richeson was matron of honor. Gina Wilhite, Lori Brown and Barbara Buckman were the bride’s attendents. The girls wore long red taffeta dresses with empire waists, while rose lace edged the V-shaped neckline with blouson sleeves. Each girl carried white fur muffs adorned with red silk roses, baby’s breath and holly with dark green lace streamers and red satin ribbons. She carried a white satin covered basket filled with minature red and white silk roses and baby’s breath.Daphne Young and Beth Ann Walden passed out red and white roses filled with bird seed to each guest. Amy McConnell attended to the guest book. Tami Shackelford and Theresa Wikerson passed out bulletins to each guest.Best man was Mike Couts, groomsmen were Donnieshirts edged in red. Their boutonnieres were red silk rosebuds and baby’s breath.The groom wore a green tux with white ruffled shirt and white rosebud boutonniere with baby’s breath to match the bride’s bouquet.Ringbearer was Travis Richeson, son of Becky Richeson. He wore a dark green tux identical to the groom’s with a minature white rosebud. He carried the rings on a heart shaped satin pillow.A reception was held at the American Legion. The bride’s table was skirted with white lace and red ribbon bows and roses.Her cake was designed and baked by the bride’s aunt, Dot-tya Young. The base of the three-tiered cake was formedwith four heart shaped cakes surrounding a lighted fountain, crystal columns between layers. Double candleholders of crystal were used at the weddings of the bride’s aunt and also her mother.Serving at the reception was Mrs. Carol Speedy, Mrs. Marcia Hall, Sherri Hudson and Nancy Russell. Mrs. Tammy Couts helped at the gift table.Following a southern honeymoon, the couple ace making their home in Princeton.
