Shereen Powers exchanges, vows with David BlankeMR. ANI) MRS. DAVID BLANKKShereen Gay Powers exchanged nuptial vows Saturday, March 4, at 4:30 p.m. in Grace Lutheran church, with David Henry Blanke. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Powers Jr., 16810 Louis ct., South Holland. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Blanke Jr., 15521 Cottage Grove, Dolton.The Rev. Milton Lehr officiated at the double ring ceremonyTwo arrangements of white gladioli and white mums decorated the altar. Tony Spelde was organist while Steven DeYoung served as soloist.The bride was dressed in an A-line gown trimmed with Chantilly lace appliques centered with seed pearls, narrow stand-up collar and lantern sleeves. The midriff was encircled with satin ribbon and her chapel length train w as attached. An elbowr length veil was attached to the camelot headpiece made with satin ribbon, seed pearls and lace.She carried an enchantment bouquet of orchids, stephanotis and ivy on a Bible.Rachelle DeYokng, mjid of honor, wore an apricot chiffon empire style gown with a panel of apricot lace in front and back, leg-of-mutton sleeves and matching short veil from a bow headpiece.She carried a cascading bouquet of nile green pom poms and green cymbidium orchids and greens.Audrey Torrance, bridesmaids, was attired the same as the maid of honor and carried a cascading bouquet of white pom poms, apricot carnations and greenary. Debra Blanke, sister of the groom, was junior bridesmaid.John Fuehrmeyer served as best man while groomsmen and ushers were Bruce Koontz and Harry Fuller.The bride s mother chose adeep pink empire styled floor length chiffon gown with a wrist corsage of white orchids. She wore silver and white accessories.The groom’s mother wore a medium blue and orchid print pant dress with silver accessories and a white orchid wrist corsage.A reception for 150 persons was held at the VFW hall in Calumet City.The groom is seving in the U.S. Marine Corps stationedat Camp Pendleton, Calif. The bride is a typist for Prudential Insurance company in Chicago. Both are 1971 graduates of Thornridge High school.The newlyweds plan to make their home in San Clemente, Calif.Out-of-town guests for the wedding were Miss Mildred Johnson of Marquette, Mich., an aunt of the bride; and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Melka, also of Marquette.
