Fair Becomes Dog HouseAn entry of 1,500 dogs is anticipated for the Mason and Dix-on Kennel Club's 21st annual allbreed dog show, to be held at Ihe Hagerstown Fairgrounds on Sunday, April 7.Last year’s edition of the local canine classic attracted a record entry of 1.304 dogs — an increase of 330 dogs over the previous year Competing in last year’s show were dogs from 34 slates Canada and Puerto Rico, with a total of 88 breeds represented.The Mason and Dixon show is an unbenched point show, held under American Kennel Club regulations. As in the past, an obedience trial will be held in conjunction with the dog show. The Blue Kidge German Shepherd Dog Club again, too, will consider judging classes for its breed as that club’s annual specialty show. (Last year there were 141 German Shepherds en lercd for judging.)Miss Elizabeth Monninger, show chairman for the Mason and Dixon Kennel Club this year, said today that hundreds of dollars and a total of 386 trophies will be awarded to winning dogs at the show in addition to ribbons in all judging categories.Any individually registered dog over six months of age may be entered, but entry forms must be received by the Foley Dog Show Organization, in Philadelphia, by noon on March 19. Premium lists and entry blanks are available by writing to the club secretary, Mrs. Jean Smith, 113 Stouffer Ave., Funkstown— or by telephoning 739-1859.Miss Monninger announced that the following judges will preside over the eight judging rings for the Mason and Dixon show; Earle T. Adair, of Pittsburgh; Edward R. Anderson, Wayne, Pa.; Mrs. Louise B. Baker, Crownsville, Md.; Raymond H. Beale, Orchard Park, N.Y.; Mrs. Virginia S. Hampton, Doylestown, Pa.; Edward A. Jones, Albany, N.Y.; Kenneth M. McDonald, Corona, Calif.; Miss Margaret M. Meg-nhan, Williamsport, Pa.; L. E. Piper, Pine Bluff, Ark.; Alva Rosenberg, Wilton, Conn.; Glenn M. Sommers, Fort Wayne, Ind.; Henry H. Stoecker, Holmdel, N, J., and Mrs. Peggy A. Westphal, Bedford Village, N.Y, (McDonald will be Best-in-Show judge.)
