EXCHANGE VOWS IN WATERLOOGenevieve Milbum Allen of Charles City, a former Marathon resident, was united in marriage Feb. 28 to Richard C. Oelberg, Cedar Falls, in the Bethel United Presbyterian Church in Waterloo. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Earl McCrey, an uncle of Mrs. Oelberg’s daughter-in-law, Mrs. John Allen. Attendants were friends, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Miller of Waterloo.A dinner in honor of the couple was held Friday evening at the Colony Club in Cedar Falls, hosted by Genevieve’s nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. James Quegg of Cedar Falls.Following a trip to the Ozarks, Mr. and Mrs. Oelberg will be at home at 1103 Carriage Lane, Cedar Falls, Iowa.The bride, a graduate of the local high school, is Grand Deputy of the Order of Rainbow for Girls of the State of Iowa Her husband is Deputy Grand Commander of the Knights Templar of the State of Iowa.Mrs. Oelberg is a sister of Mrs. I. L. Chally of Stratford and Mrs. Irene Blomquist of Sheldon, both former long-time residents of the Marathon community.
