Harrison-Lewis vows pledged in Baptist riteHolland Chapel Missionary Baptist Church was the setting for the Thursday evening, March 2, double-ring wedding ceremony of Miss Waynell Gay Harrison and Leslie Steven Lewis.The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Wayne Harrison of Benton. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Ernest O. Lewis, also of Benton.Rev. Sidney McLeod officiated. Nuptial music was presented by Mrs. Larry Tittle, organist, and Miss Cindy Fikes, soloist.The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of Schiffli embroidered organza fashioned with a high neck and fitted sleeves. Rows of val lace circled the patterns of silk embroidery. A wide satin band belted the waistline and formed a large bow with streamers down the back of the skirt. A lace Camelot headpiece secured her chapel-length veil of illusion. She carried a cascade of feathered carnations and baby's breath, centered with an orchid.Mrs. Daniel Hudson was her sister's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Keith Beck and Miss Debbie Lewis, sisters of the groom, and Miss Carol Carttar, all of Benton. The bride's attendants wore gowns of orchid and violet with orchid Camelot headpieces. Each carried a single long-stemmed white rose with violet streamers.Steve Ward of Bryant was best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Keith Beck and Derrell Hill, both of Benton, and Daniel Hudson of Russellville. Harry Lewis, cousin of the groom, and Phillip Brown were head ushers. Randal Lewis, brother of the groom, and Wendell Arrowood were can-dlelighters. Mrs B J McCann directed and Mrs M E. Collins assisted.ReceptionFollowing the candlelight ceremony, a reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church. The bride's table was laid with a white satin cloth trimmed with white net and clusters of orchid and violet flowers and streamers. The three-tiered w edding cakewas the focal point of the table with a centerpiece of lovebirds and violet candles. A crystal punch bowl and dishes of mints and nuts completed the setting.Serving were Miss Jan Smith, Miss Becky Brown, and Miss Marilyn Vehn.Assisting were Mrs. Herrell Smith, M6. J.P. Singleton, Mrs. G.W Perryman and Mrs. W L. Harper. Miss Cathy Taylor presided at the guestbook.Randal Lewis and Wendell Arrowwood distributed the rice bags. After a trip to the Ozarks, the groom will continue his tour of duty with the Army. The bride is at home in Benton where she will complete her schooling at Benton High School.Epsilon Sigma Alphameets in Baxley homeMrs. Catherine Baxley was hostess for a meeting of Beta Pi Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha teachers sorority Monday evening Feb 7. Mrs. Joan Haynes presented the program, which was entitled What Can 1 Do For OurSchools?”The hostesses servedTASTING PARTY Mrs. Hattie Toney and Mrs. Marge Johnston were cohostesses for a tasting party at the Benton State Bank Community Room Monday evening, Feb. 21.
