Dr. and Mrs. Govostis were married Sunday, Feb. 7, at 6 o’clock in the evening in the St.. Demet-rios Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago.Baskets of white flowers decorated the church as the Rev. James Nestor read the wedding service for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gust Vourgias, 853 E. North St., and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Costas Govostis, 2648 W. Farragut Ave., Chicago.The bride’s gown was of ivory taffeta fashioned with a full pleated skirt billowing into a chapel train. The sculptured bodice featured an illusion neckline bordered with Alencon lace scattered with opalescent and seed pearls and long taffeta sleeves. Miss Vourgias wore a crown of matching lace which caught her fingertip veil of ivory silk illusion.Sister Is AttendantMatron of honor was the bride’s sister, Mrs. Gust Zissides of Galesburg, while junior bridesmaid was Miss Evelyn Parzakonis, the bridegroom’s niece. Both attendants wore rose silk shantung ballerina dresses identically styled with shirred bodices, strapless with detachable stoles, and carried cascade arrangements of white carnations with pink roses.George Chulos served as best man and John Chulos as groomsman. Ushers were George William Alexander and John E. Parzakonis, the bridegroom’s nephew.The Michigan Room of the Edge-water Beach Hotel was the scene of the wedding reception and dinner for 150 guests following the ceremony.Mrs. Govostis attended Knox College and was graduated from Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was a stewardess with the United Air Lines and is now a teacher in the Chicago Public Schools.Dr. Govostis, a specialist in surgery, graduated from Loyola University, New Orleans, La., and the University of Illinois Medical School. The bride is the formerMiss Angeline'Vourgias.Cottage Guild toFurnish 14 RoomsftAt HospitalAt the meeting of the governing board of the Cottage Hospital Service Guild Tuesday morning in the hospital library, approval was given for the purchase of furniture for four additional rooms, which will make a total of 14 rooms the guild will have refurnished for the hospital.It was the desire of members of the ways and means committee to furnish as many rooms as possible.
