Golden Wedding Anniversary.John R. Carmichael and Elizabeth Burch were united in marriage near Cincinnati, Green county, Indiana, March 7th, 1872, and celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of that notable event at their home in Conway, la., March 7th, 1922.The occasion was the most notable social event of the season in the community. A bountiful dinner was served of which the entire company of guests participated with gladness. The bride and groom of fifty years ago were able to fill their places at the feast with grateful remembrance of bounties that had crowned their years together. They were the thankful recipients of presents appropriate to the occasion and which in generations following will commemorate the event.„,Six of the seven children born to this household are living. Those present were N. L. Carmichael of Conway; W. B. of Mound City, Mo.; Homer, of Burlington, Mo., and Mrs. Ethel Lam’bley of Conway. Mrs. Mary Parks of Chaney Center, Colo., and H. Carmichael of Pueblo., Colo., were unable to be in attendance.iOthers present including members of the family and friends were William Sharr and wife cf Pickering', Mo. Mr. Sharr is a cousin of the groom and Mrs. Sharr a sister of the bride; I. A. Sharr and family of Hopkins, Mo.; W. D. Carmichael of Mound City and family; Homer Carmichael of Burlington Junction, Mo., and family; T. E.- Lanvbley and wife of Conway; Harry P. Lambley and wife of Conway; Thomas Latimer and wife of Pickering, Mo.; J. Ross Kopp and wife of Bedford, la., and Rev. and Mrs. Carl Brown of Conway.•rIn the family there are thirteen grandchildren. The five children of the son, Homer, were present.The first ten years of their wedded life was spent in Indiana. They immigrated to Nodaway county, Mo., in the year 1882. Except a few years spent in Bedford they have resided i in Conway and community since 1897 {where as good neighbors and worthy citizens they are well and favorably known.After appropriate remarks by Mr. Brown, the pastor, in which he stressed the blessings of the family and the means of grace which such household celebrations constituted, concluding with a brief prayer, and the guests felicitating the hosts on account of their .many years of tri-j umph together, the day of commem-I oration closed.—'Contributed.
