Mr. Jerry Coffey and Miss Annie Sullivan were united in marriage on Tuesday by Rev. Father Gilchrist at the Commercial hotel. The groom is seriously ill with pneumonia and the ceremony was performed at the bedside. It is said that this couple have been engaged for several years but that the course of true love did not run smoothly for some reason. Hearing of Mr. Coffey’s dangerous condition Miss Sullivan left her em-plojment and for a number of days before the wedding had bre.i caring fur the sick man with all the skill ofa profesjdonr! nurse and the tender* ness of a loving woman. If Mr. Coffey recovers, as every body hopes he may, he will largely owe his life to his wife’s efforts, and if he dies he has certainly done all he could tow* ard acknowledging his obligations to the woman who loved him. In case he recovers ho may well regard the visitation of sickness as a blessing in disguise for it brought him an excel* lent wife.Latjbr.—As we go to press we learn that Mr. Coffey died at an early hour this morning.—Waverly Republican.
