Lindy Russel performed the ceremony. Organ music was furnished by Willie Orman, grandfather of the bride.Janet Jones was the maid of honor; Gary Crowder was best man. Jane Ann’s three sisters, Debbie, Kathy and Karen, were bridesmaids. Their floor-length, blue gowns were made by theirgrandmother, Mrs. Dorothy Orman. She also made the floor-length white wedding gown and veil.Ushers were Kenny Stevens, brother of the bride, and Danny Crowder, brother of the groom.The newly married couple will live in Mansfield.A baby shower for Nancy Smith was held Feb. 27 at the Knightsville Community House. Given by Diana Pruett of Knightsville and her sisters, Della, Phyllis and Paula Smith of Rosedale and Mary Smith, 27 attended.Guests included Jean Kelso of Clayton, Nancy’s mother, and Adele Sawyer of Brazil, her mother-in-law.Sunday dinner guests of theWillie Ormans were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Orman and family of Jonesboro, Tom Stevens and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Steigler of Brazil, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Orman and family of Manhattan and Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Orman and family of Knightsville.Mr. Orman’s brother, James Orman of Route 1, Coal City, is seriously ill in Clay County Hospital.Butch Buchholz, a teacher in the Richmond, Ind. schools, visited his parents over the weekend.Friends and relatives of Sam Parr gathered at his home Sunday to celebrate his 90th birthday. Homemade ice cream and cake was enjoyed by all.Dareline Brown of Knightsville is a patient in the Clay County Hospital.Jeff Deal is a patient in the Regional Hospital in Terre Haute following a car accident. Jeff is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Deal of Knightsville. Mr. Deal reports that Jeff is getting along nicely.Kenneth (Peck) Asdale of Indianapolis was in Brazil Monday, Feb. 21 on business. Peck dropped by for a visit with us.On Friday, Feb. 25, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wright was destroyed by fire. It formerly was the home of the late Kenneth Giltz on Weaver Street. The Van Buren Township Volunteer Fire Department’s Carbon andHarmony units answered the call.Harriette Ann Phillips visited her parents last week. Her mother, Bessie, accompanied her home to Muncie. Harriette has completed her term at Ball State.Our neighbor, who isrecuperating in her home after being hospitalized, had no telephone service Thursday evening. The telephone company was called and in 20 minutes the linemen arrived and worked until 1 a.m. to restore service.Bessie Shearer of Route 15, Brazil, recently fell and injured her leg. She is getting along with the use of a walker.Our shut-ins this week are Oma Kennedy, Ella Altman, Ruth Somes and Elizabeth Donald.
