Evans, wealthy widow, at 63, became the bride of Albert Badger,a barber, 47. The wedding took place at■a new residence, 69 N. Irvington-avc., purchased by Mrs. Badger just previous to her making up her mind to get married. Mr. Badger is still working at his trade in a N. Illinois-st. barb« r shop.Nothing in years has caused quite* such a sensation in Irvington social circles In discussing the wedding. Mrs. Badger said she had purchased the large house and had no one to live in it with her. She and Badger had been friends for three years, she said, and she decided the best thing to do was for them to get married. It was agreeable to Mr, Badger, and now they ure both happy, says Mrs. Badger.There were no moonlight strolls through the picturesque lanes of Irvington, end the couple did not indulge in idle to-maneing, according to Mrs. Badger. £he had frequently called at the home of Badger's brother, wIpit she became acquainted with him.“I purchased this property where we are living and would have had to live here alone,” said Mrs. Badger. “I had known Mr. Badger and while I kno\v that I am a few years older than he. I also realized that it was not out of rci-son for us to get married.”Mrs. Badger says she has given her son a large sum of money and that he owns an apartment house on W. Twent-eighth-st. She says notwithstanding her financial standing her husband will keep on working at his trade.“I left Indianapolis a year and a half ago.” said Mrs. Badger, “intending to make my home with my son. I gave up the idea of ever getting married agn'n. Eater I decided to get married. I consider it our own affair. We had a quiet home wedding, with no one present hut two women friends, one of whom dressed my hair for the occasion. Rev. Mr. Winter. ot Irvington, performed the ceremony.”Mrs. Badger is a refined woman, wno for 32 years was a school teacher. .She is the widow of Dr. Evans, with whom she «ed for 20 years.“I am not as young as T used to be. but T am healthy and life still holds much happiness for me,” Mrs. Badger said.
