Jones-Flynn vows repeatedA ceremony which took place Saturday, June 9, in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Albany, united in marriage Miss LaVon Elaine Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Jones, Albany, to Daniel J. Flynn of Middleton.Mr. and Mrs. Tom Flynn, Brodhead, are the parents of the bridegroom. Officiating at the double-ring ceremony was Father Thomas LourimA floor-length ivory chiffonBridal shower heldMiss Christine Meier, Juda, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Meier Jr., Juda, who was married June 23 to Harvey Kubly, was honored at a bridal shower June 18 in the Leo Hauri home, Monroe.Mrs. Hauri and Mrs. Ray W. Kubly, Monroe, were cohostesses. Paul Hauri, son of the Leo Hauris, was in charge of games.Attending were Mrs. Alfred Meier Jr., and Cindy and Mrs. Dan Kundert and Jeff, Juda; Mmes. Walter H. Kubly, William Kubly, Ralph Sacker, Ernest Kern, John Stocker, Merlyn Geigel, Ronald Anderson, Mike Krebs, Duane Kubly and Roger Kubly and Miss Maureen Tschudy, all of Monroe.Miss Meier and Harvey Kubly were married June 23 in St. John’s United Church of Chrjst.News BriefArthur W. Upmann, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Upmann, 1415 14th St., has accepted a position with the Swiss Colony, Monroe, as a freezer helper.A recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Upmann majored in biology while at the university.gown, empire styled, with Bishop sleeves, was worn by the bride. The cuffs, stand-up collar and bodice were accented with ivory Venice lace and pink satin.A matching toque headdress held her court-length veil of illusion and blusher veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of pink daisy pomps, red Sweetheart roses and baby’s breath.Soloist, Don Damon, Madison, sang “The Lord’s Prayer,” Wedding Song,” and “0 Lord Most Holy,” accompanied by Mrs. Terry Chrisbaum, Albany, organist.Miss Mary Whalen, Madison, was maid of honor, wearing a pink floor-length gown, empire styled, with white flocked flowers adorning the skirt and bodice. She wore pink daisies in her hair and carried a colonial bouquet of pink daisy pomps and white carnations.Kelly and Stacy Flynn served as miniature bridesmaids. Their dresses and flowers werelike those of the maid of honor.Jerry Hendrickson, Madison, was best man. The wedding guests were seated by Curtis Jones and Mike Flynn, brothers of the couple.Mrs. Curtis Jones attended the guest book.A floor-length turquoise gown, accented with a corsage of pink Sweetheart roses and daisies, was worn by the mother of the bride. Mrs. Flynn chose a floor-length gown in royal blue, worn with a corsage like that of the bride’s mother.Following the service, a buffet dinner for 150 was served at the Decatur Lake Country Club, Brodhead. Servers were Mmes. Tom Richmond, Marvin Clark, Pat Flynn, Dave McGlynn and Roy Kopp.The newlyweds are residing in Albany.
