CHILDS’ CREATED DAMAGEUNS AWAY AND UBS. CHILD8 IS KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS.Broncho Dashes Across the Third Street Bridge Side-Swiping Bigs' and Creating Havoc.At South End of Bridge Collided withSeybold’s Rig and Both Vehiclesare Wrecked.(From Thursday's Reporter.^Mrs. William Childs/ wife of BillChilds, the broncho “buster/7 was rendered unconscious in being thrown from a rig to the brick pavement at the south end of the Third street bridge this morning. In the wild dash of the runaway horse over the bridge from the North Side, the rig collided with a buggy driven by Heniy Sey-bold, and damaged it considerably. Other rigs enroute over the bridge at the time were side-swiped, but none were seriously injured. Mrs. Childs although badly bruised and knocked unconscious, fortunately escaped fatalinjuries._ ^The runaway was one of the most spectacular which has occurred in'fche city for some time. Childs, who is in the habit of driving wild horses, left his rig standing in front of Castle V grocery store on Sycamore street, this morning. The animal became frightened and bolted. Mrs. Childs, who was in the rig, seized the reins and tried to control the animal. She tugged manfully at he lines, but her strength was unequal to the task. The horss dashed etAlight for the bridge. Several vehicles were crossing at the time, and the drivers frantically fe-gan to draw aside. Mrs. Childs pluck-ilv tried to direct the animal's course.v . •Two of the rigs, were side-swiped, and then with crushing force, the runaway horse at the end of the bridge sent the light rig behind him swinging into.another driven by Henry Seybold. There was a loud crash. Seybold’s,,rig. Van wrecked and the box of Childs’ bug*-gy became wrenched, from its fasten-*, ings and was thrown into the air. Mrs. Childs* went with it. She fell heavily on the brick pavement with considerable of the wreckage lying across her prostrate body. Examination revealed that she was unconscious. She was picked up and earned into Eckert?a blacksmit hshop, where restoratives were aplied. She was revived shortly. Another buggy was secured, and Childs and his wif edrove off.
