Mr. and Mrs. Mark MaloneyMiss Gay Isley Blackburn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gilmer Blackburn of Decatur, Alabama, and Mark Daniel Maloney, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Arthur Maloney of Ridgway, were united in marriage on Saturday, June 2, at seven o’clock in the evening. The candlelight ceremony was held at the First United Methodist Church in Decatur, Alabama, with the Reverend Robert L. Archibald of Birmingham, Alabama, and the Reverend John E. Stallings of Shawneetown officiating.Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of candlelight silk organza and handclipped Alencon laceover peau d§ soie,* ^$4.pearls, and iridescents accented the fitted bodice and fitted natu$l waistline. lace!edged the scalloped heckline and the lace trumpet-shaped sleeves ended in scallopl at the writs. A deep border of matching lace and appliqued motifs of Alencon lace with seed pearls and iridescents accented the bell-shaped skirt which swept into a full-length train.A lace Juliet cap held the handloomed Brussels lace cathedral length veil. The bride carried a cascade of miniature calla lilies, gardenias, gradum lilies, enchantment lilies, lilies ofthe valley and maidenhair fern.Serving their sister as maids of honor were Miss Allison Blackburn of Nashville, Tennessee and Miss Lisa Blackburn of Decatur, Alabama. The bridesmaids were Miss Kristie Rose Maloney of New York, New York and Miss Erin Maloney of Ridgway, sisters of the groom, Miss Ellison Hume of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Jack Altman III of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. Raymond Leathers of Birmingham, Alabama, longtime friends of the bride, and Mrs. Mark Henley of Marietta, Georgia and Mrs. John Phillips of Prince Frederick, Maryland, college classmates of the bride. Miss Teresa Wargel of Junction, cousin and goddaughter of the groom, served as junior bridesmaid.Bruce L. Belfiore of New York, New York, college classmate of the groom, assisted the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Shaun R. Maloney of Ridgway, cousin of the groom, Richard G. Danner of Decatur, Alabama, cousin of the bride, Stanley K. Miller of Ridgway, long-time friend of the groom, John E. Ebel of Pasadena, California, David R. English of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Gordon C. Pittar of Richmond, Virginia, college classmates of the groom, and Gary I. Christian of Jacksonville, Florida and Harold L. Downing of Winter Park, Florida, law school classmates of the couple.Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a champagne reception at the Decatur Country Club. Miss Terry Currie of Atlanta, Georgia, law school classmate of the couple, presided at the guest book.Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Joseph Maloney of Ridgway, grandparents of the groom, hosted the rehearsal dinner at Burningtree Country Qub the evening before the wedding, followed by a dessert party hosted by Miss Kristi Rose Maloney and Miss Erin Marie Maloney, sisters of the groom.Earlier in the day, a bridal luncheon was given by Mrs. J. Claud Birdsong, grandmother of the bride, Mrs. Robert L. Mayo, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Louis Trammell, great-aunt of the bride.On the morning of the wedding a Mass of Thanksgiving was offered by the Reverend John E. Stallings at St. Ann Catholic Church. Immediately thereafter a bride’s brunch was hosted by Mrs. Peter Banninger, grandmother of the groom, Mrs. Anderson Blackburn, grandmother of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Danner, aunt and uncle of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. John B.
