MISS SUE COLEEngagement of SueCole is AnnouncedThe engagement and approaching marriage of Miss Sue Cole daughter of Mr and Mrs. Philip Cole of Anson, to Mr. Elvis Wayne Rodgers, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Rodgers of Anson, formerly of Merkel, was announced at a teaSaturday, June 21, at the home of the bride-elects parents.Mrs. Cole greeted guests and presented Miss Cole and Mrs. Rodg-mother of Mr. Rodgers. Miss Patsy Cole, sister of the bride-elect presided over the registry. MissMarilyn Thompson ushered guestshonoree, her mother, Mrs. Philip Cole, Mrs. D. W. Rodgers, mother of Mr. Rodgers. Miss Doris Cole sister of the bride-elect, and Mrs. Donald Rutledge, sister of Mr. Rodgers.The dining table was covered in lace and centered with a flower arrangement of pink roses and fern in a crystal vase flanked by white tapers in crystal candal-bras. Miss Thompson poured the1 punch and was assisted in serving i of cookies and salad by Miss Worn-1 ack and Mrs. Baxter. *Miss Jane Johnson presided over the beautiful white satin bride’s book. Miss Patsy Baxter ushered guests into the gift room. Mrs.Chambers said goodbyes.The entertaining rooms were decorated with spring flower arrangements of sweetpeas, gladiolus, roses and daisies.Mrs. Charles Graves, Mrs. Rue Bennett and Mrs. Raymond Day played piano selections throughouting mat teed.Ansonhad aose Callinto the dining room. Miss Doris Cole, sister of the bride-elect poured the punch and was assisted in serving heart. shaped open face sandwiches in green and gold and cookies by Miss Buryi Womack and Janice and Martha Coje, sisters of the bride-elect. The table was covered in lace with beautiful flower arrangements of daisies flanked by white tapers in crystal candela-bras. The announcement was made on an orchid scrool ,which said, “Sue and Elvis, June 28th.” The scroll was tied with white and gold ribbon on a minature bag of rice.The entertainment rooms were decorated with gladiolus, roses and sweet peas.Goodbyes were said by Mrs. M. L. Mitchell, maternal grandmother of Miss Cole.the calling hours.Guests present were: Mmes. J. C. Lain, J. L. Pough, Abe Cole. Wesley Beasley, Ethel McDuff, Oran A.
